Nannan’s Gone Missing is a play dealing with a family coming to terms with a beloved grandparent’s developing Alzheimer’s disease. It is pitched for KS3 Drama students but would also work for KS4. Although the subject matter is serious the content is often humorous whilst at the same time sensitive. Told through both continuous action and flashback each scene is accompanied by three potential activities based on content from OCR GCSE DRAMA J316 . Colour coded activites are chosen by spinning a three coloured selector or by the throw of a three coloured die which pupils can make prior to engaging with the play. There are eight named characters and ample opportunities for group, pair and solo work with a number of short monologues which are ideal practice pieces for potential full course GCSE Drama students.
