Introduce your learners to the 13 original colonies of the USA one state at a time with a printable worksheet for each state! Simple map activity and reading comprehension questions. For each of the 13 states, your students will read a brief introduction to that state (location, capital, flag, state bird, state flower), write the capital next to the star on the map, color the small map, state bird, and state flower, and use the map and compass to answer questions on page 2. Colored pencils and a pen or pencil are needed for this activity. No other prep needed. Basic Geography worksheets with simple maps to introduce each of the 13 states and practice cardinal and ordinal directions. Also included in this bundle: 13 Original Colonies Worksheet and 13 Original Colonies Word Search Puzzle. For use with Interactive Notebooks: After the worksheets for a state are completed, students can cut out the map, flag, state bird and state flower, and paste into the notebook under the topic of 13 Colonies/Sub-Topic: (state). Under the map, students can write a summary in their own words of what they now know about this state.
