The lesson starts with a starter activity, where the pupils have to describe a geometrical image to their partner using correct mathematical language. There are two images to allow all pupils have a go at describing or drawing the image.
There are 11 irregular shapes with answers for the pupils to work out the perimeter. This was used for a Year 6 class but could also be used for Year 5 and Year 7.
There are also two activities which extend the pupils. They are given a set number of shapes and they have to attempt to make the longest perimeter and shortest perimeter with those shapes.
