My Yr13’s have played the Pirate game at the end of term since they were in 7 so I made a special version for them to play today in their last A-Level Maths lesson now that the exams have been cancelled.
The only variation to the normal rules is that when someone is infected and loose their toilet rolls, the people on either side of them loose half of their toilet rolls as the infection is passed on. The initial infected person can block the infection saving all 3 victims or one of the 2 secondary victims can block but this only saves themselves

I played this with my students in a 30 min zoom lesson. Those who have played Pirates will no that isn't long enough to finish the game. They enjoyed it but said it wasn't as fun as playing face to face. Nice twist being topical.
