The sticky label method (promoting positive behaviour)
This method aims to notice and immediately acknowledge a targeted positive behaviour; it works best with younger children who like to proudly display stickers on their jumpers. The aim is to notice the child for all the times when they are achieving their target. This method is about tipping the balance so the child learns to gain attention through other more positive behaviours. We call this the sticky label method.
We have used this method countless times and feedback from staff (and children) we have shared the idea with, in numerous settings, has always been hugely positive.
