Present Simple Tense Worksheet

This 4-page worksheet is for English, ESL, and EAL students to practice positive / affirmative sentence, negative sentences, and questions using the present simple tense and modal verbs. The worksheet features grammar structure tables followed by a variety of different practice exercises, including gap-fills, changing sentences, sentence writing, error identification and correction, and question writing.

I found this worksheet really useful for teaching English as a Foreign Language. Although the target grammar is quite basic, an annual or semester review always proved very helpful to many of my students. The grammar tables were also great revision-aids.

I’ve provided 4 different versions of the worksheet: A4 color, A4 grayscale, A5 color, and A5 grayscale. The A5 sheets are designed to be printed on A4, cut in two and pasted into notebooks. An answer key is included.
