Create an instant introduction to clothes in French with this set of word wall cards, featuring 20 items of clothing that I like to share with my young learners of French. We don’t actually have all the clothes in our learning plan, we use them for developing language skills and awareness in general. I’ve included a selection of masculine and feminine, singular and plural, using the definite article. We talk a lot about ways of saying ‘the’ in French, and look at cognates and near cognates. We discuss the kinds of clothes we like to wear, and those we don’t!

There are two cards per 8.5 x 11 (A4) page in landscape format - the words are definitely big enough for children to be able to read from a range of locations in the classroom - we do lots of guessing, spelling and vocab games for example, really using the display functionally. There are two backgrounds to choose from - French flag or black wave.
