Leçon 6 in our Learn as you teach Level 2 “School Life” French unit: OBJECTIVE: To describe your school day. AGE RANGE: (7-12); KS2 (KS3 Less able/Special Needs)
CONTENTS: (i) A power point presentation with a range of French native speaker sound files attached to every item of language with animation designed to support both learners and presenters: Starter: Fun traditional French nonsense playground clapping rhyme; Screens 3-4: Learning objective and key structures: á – at (with places and time); dehors – outside; quand – when. Screens 5&6: Reviewing á – at with time and different times of day followed by a presentation using quand – when with school routine and activities; Screen 7: Story describing the dinosaur’s school day; Plenary: Picture multiple choice listening exercise reviewing school routine; time on the hour and half hour; classroom furniture and features plus places around the school.
(ii) A lesson plan with screen by screen guidance and fun activity suggestions on how to present the show to pupils including a complete French/English vocabulary for the whole of the Level 2 School LIfe Unit with grammar notes;
(iii) A b/w illustrated worksheet with 3 differentiated tasks that has been directly linked to the main body of the power point show.
(iv) FREE Level 2 MFL Primary KS2/3 French work scheme detailing the other objectives in the unit and where the lesson falls in the teaching scheme.
