Designed by a teacher who has been a GCSE Hod and worked at a Grammar School. 10 years teaching experience.
Not proportionality in tables.
Objectives:
Write proportionality statements,
Form proportionality equations,
find k,
Complete the proportionality equation,
Solve problems involving direct proportion given values.
Table of key points to display to students (word doc) and matching activity in a grid, with graphs shown for all y = kx equations and y=k/x equations.
This grid will help students work out which formula is relevant to their question. Proportionality questions require students to make an equation due to a word description. The first step in doing this is knowing the difference between the direct and inverse proportion equations and understanding in general direct proportion is y = kx to the power of n and inverse is y = k/x to the power of n. This resources helps cement that and can be used as a learning aid to answer questions.
