In this easy to use and enjoyable lesson, pupils are introduced to radio plays through use of scripts and original extracts from War of the Worlds.

They will explore the some of the social/historical context of the aural tradition of sharing stories and entertaining audiences in the years before TV and film.

They will consider the challenges of producing their own radio plays/podcast stories, and begin to explore ways of adapting historical scripts for a contemporary audience.

This lesson is easy and fun to deliver for both non-specialists and experienced teachers.

The lesson includes easy to use and print script extracts for pupils to use.
