Ratio – Bigger Picture.
Pre Assessment – pupils to demonstrate how much they can remember on the side of “what they should know”.
Post Assessment – after pupils have been introduced to the new concept they then sit a quick assessment of a couple of questions to show they understand how to solve equations.
Resource contents:
Foundation – Introduction to ratio (2 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Developing – simplifying ratio (12 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Secure 1 – share an amount into a given ratio (4 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Secure 2 – find an unknown value in a given ratio (2 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Secure 3 – Application of ratio questions (4 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Exceeding – Given a recipe question, given the ingredients, check if we have enough of one ingredient (2 questions in total over Ratio 1 & 2).
Contains;
1. 16 questions, moving from foundation level to exceeding.
2.Pre Assessment questions/post assessment questions.
3. 16 solutions provided.
4. Set of instructions to ensure the task runs smoothly.
5. Please download file and ensure you don’t just drag and drop to google drive as this can cause issues with the viewing the file.
Printing Tip: This resource has been designed to display on board or print on A4. If you wish to print, select ‘shrink’ or ‘print to fit page’ (or fit to page option on your print settings) in order for it to print correctly on A4.
Tip 2: You could laminate and reuse for other classes. This could be printed in colour and used over and over again. Saving you time and money on the printing costs.

Idea behind task;
Get pupils to demonstrate individually how confident they are at solving questions involving ratio and also to address misconceptions at an individual level. Pupils can show clear understanding and if they get stuck then it allows us to put an intervention in place from the onset.
