This unit is a series of six lessons and all printable resources for the UC Incarnation Unit “Why do Christians perform nativity plays at Christmas?” These lessons are based on UC CORE LEARNING planning.

Each lesson starts with a sticky knowledge retrieval quiz and vocabulary activity.
Activities include drawing baby versions of famous adults to underpin the idea that Jesus was once a baby; nativity figure ordering of importance task; nativity story reading; Away in a Manger singing session; playdough nativity activity; various nativity videos to remind of the story; mince pie making; sheep making activity; halo making task; Wise Men box craft; interactive reading of nativity story; present wrapping task; carol singing activity; Little Donkey singing task; and Christmas card activity based on nativity.
All lessons are linked to the lives and beliefs of two fictional Christian children to allow children to relate to the ideas.

Lessons include videos, group/partner discussion, group tasks, individual tasks and making links to children’s own lives. All printable resources are included, and there is a printing and resources requirement list for the whole unit. Please note - the SMART and PowerPoint contain the same content, but you need Notebook software to open SMART.
