An easy independent activity to support children in learning to read and write common exception words.

Read it and say it give the child the chance to read the CEW either silently or aloud.

Write it gives the child the chance to trace over the word to ensure letter formation.

Fill the space uses phoneme frames to allow the child you correct the sizing and position of their letters. Magnetic letters could be used instead of writing .

Spell it gives the child a chance to use their newly acquired knowledge of the CEW to write it independently for the first time. Lines are included to support the child in knowing how many letters they need to include.
