Rekenrek Addition 0 to 100 based on number bonds to 10

This bundle consists of 10 sets of addition task cards from 1 to 100 (the green cards) based on number bonds to 10. As well as offering children an opportunity to familiarise themselves with 1 digit addition to 2 digit addition to 100, these cards firmly build on children’s understanding of pattern and connection within Maths, i.e. if 3 +7 = 10, then 3 + 27 = 30. While these connections are important for all learners, they are crucial for children who are experiencing any challenges in Maths. Each card clearly presents a set of rekenrek beads representing an addition sum and allowing children to trace the numbers underneath. These also allows for continued reinforcement of the relationship between number and quantities. These cards can be used as part of a whole-class activity, in small groups or independently to build fluency. The cards are also ideal for use with children with dyscalculia, dyslexia, visual learners or as part of basket work in an Autism class. The cards are part of a comprehensive and wider set of task cards that harness the potential of the rekenrek to explore recognition of number to 100 and addition and subtraction.
