A 6 week unit including planning and differentiated Widgit (Communicate in Print) resources. Work is differentiated for a wide range of children to access - I am currently teaching children working at mainstream Y1 - Y5.
Unit of work includes:
- To identify what independence is, how and why I can/should be independent in some areas of my life/learning.
- To explore and identify ways to be independent and safe on and around roads.
- To identify and demonstrate how to behave appropriately outside of the school environment individually or with friends.
- To explore different methods of transport and how to behave appropriately on these.
- To explore and identify how to independently purchase an item from a shop.
- To reflect on the Topic and to demonstrate independence and maturity outside of the school environment.
Each lesson starts with a practical/verbal task and then a written task which can be completed with an adult, as a group or independently depending on the needs within your class.
