This lesson explores the theme of FAMILY: parents and children as presented in Romeo & Juliet. Pupils are introduced to the theme using engaging video clips from modern soap operas to promote discussion and highlight the relevance of this theme in modern society before leading into group narrative planning allowing pupils to explore the origins of the Montague and capulet ancient grudge and create this elusive detail for themselves whilst reinforcing GCSE writing skills and enriching their knowledge and engagement with this GCSE literature text.
