Shape and Space - AQA Entry Level 2 Maths

This resource has been designed for students working towards the AQA Entry Level Certificate in Maths who are working at Entry Level 2. It contains an age-appropriate, 110-slide PowerPoint lesson and a 46-page workbook on shape and space.

These resources will help pupils to achieve these outcomes:

recognise and name 2D shapes including pentagons, hexagons and octagons
identify a right-angled triangle
recognise and name 3D shapes including pyramids
describe the properties of 2D and 3D shapes
understand angle as a measure of turn
identify quarter, half, three-quarter and full turns
understand clockwise and anti-clockwise

PowerPoint Lesson

The editable PowerPoint lesson clearly explains how to identify 2D and 3D shapes and their properties. It also explains what an angle is and what a quarter turn, half turn, three quarter turn and full turn are. The PowerPoint provides many opportunities for the pupils to practice and apply their knowledge of shape and space. It also contains links to several short videos on shape and space and example exam questions. It is ideal for introducing students to the shape and space component of the specification and for revision purposes.
