This Shiloh movie guide is full of educational opportunity. It is a story based on the novel Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor published in 1991. Challenge students to analyze the characters and their beliefs and create their own opinions about how humans should treat dogs. Journey through the movie as a class, pause at the designated times, and then discuss and answer 11 high-level short answer and essay questions.

This product .zip file includes:

  • A student movie guide, PDF print version (4 pages)
  • A student movie guide, PDF digital fillable form version (4 pages)
  • An answer key is not included as many questions are open-ended and encourage students to analyze the film. Many answers will not fit into a ‘box’. Students are encouraged to construct their own meaning from the characters’ dialogue and behavior.
