Lesson resources for the ‘Spectroscopy’ unit (OCR Chemistry A) which includes:

  1. Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) introduction
  2. Interpreting Carbon-12 NMR spectra
  3. Interpreting Proton NMR spectra
  4. Combined techniques

The lesson worksheets should be used alphabetically (2a before 2b) as they will increase the amount of interpretation required up to determining the structure.

‘4. Lots of spectra’ is a glossary of compound spectra and elemental analysis which can be printed out individually and used as an activity to identify the compound chosen.

‘4. Synthesis & Analysis’ is a huge selection of questions using different techniques, useful as a booklet to work through.

All PowerPoints start with a short quiz to help gauge understanding at the start and most tasks are differentiated by choice.
