This is an activity to calculate speed for pupils moving along a given distance. Measure out a distance in metres (30 metres worked well) then each student runs, walks, crawls, hops, skips or travels any way they want from the start line to the finish line. Another pupil in the class measures the time taken for each pupil. They can record the times on this sheet and then work out the speed that each pupil moved at. A nice way to end the lesson is to compare the fastest speed of the class with Usain Bolt's speed for 100m.
