Pupils read the model non-chronological report about barn spiders, and then examine its features; label the layout features of a non-chronological report on the sheet; sort the sentences about another animal into sections; and plan and write their own non-chronological report using the templates. Pupils can create the information text about the same or different type of spider, or an animal of their choice. These activities can be carried out over several lessons.
