Planning for a Literacy topic for KS1 based on the Squirrels who Squabbled.
It was originally planned for a Yr1 class but can easily be adapted for Yr2. The planning includes lessons that help the children to learn ambitious new vocabulary, improve their grammar (suffix focus) and plan the retelling of part of the story. It also includes retrieval questions and higher order thinking questions. These are highlighted in blue and can be used in each lesson to further and deepen the children’s understanding. -
