This lesson plan aims to use both inductive and deductive approaches to teach the future using "going to" within the context of the 7 wonders of the world. The lesson plan is aimed at a ESOL, EFl, ESL setting for learners at A2 to B1 CEF banding and would last between 1hr 15 mins - 1hr 45mins.

Learners would need access to computers with internet access or alternatively, the sections from the appropriate website can be printed prior to the class.

The methodology of the plan is based on various sources but focusses primarily on Professor Aronson's Jigsaw strategy to promote collaborative peer learning and teaching. The approach is excellent for promoting positive interdependency and extending the responsibility of learning and teaching to learners.

The inductive approach shows the learners the use of "going to" in text and then goes on to explicitly teaching it through the use of the Jigsaw strategy.

The plenary activity is a fun miming activity using going to in potentially authentic situations.
