Oh boy, it’s baaaaaaaaacck! For the THIRTEENTH year! 60 questions based on the world’s happenings over the last year of January to December 2023. Covers News, Media, Celebs, Music, Food, Politics and general what’s been happening. I’ve tried to keep it light and not too much heavy drama as we deserve a bit of fun after the year we’ve all just had!

And, muddy boots, what a year! How much can YOU remember?

Single-use plastics ban, three-year lockdown ends, Christmas number one, Benedict passes, billion-pound cyber attack, greatest footballer ever passes, fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, Flowers, new colour of football card, earthquake devastation, Brit Awards winner, Superbowl 57, USA denies aliens, legendary train is 100, Disney unveils new toy, Australian finds expensive ‘rock’. government ban, new species of giant animal discovered, extinct animal mega-meatball, emergency test alert, Angry Birds bought out, Apple opens new store, King Charles III coronation, videogames sells millions in first few days, Eurovision winner, Premier League winners, Simply the Best singer passes, Pride Month, DC hero hits big screen, Sprinter reigns over summer, streaming password crackdown, Aldi shopper surprise, British festival first, insects swarm, toy-based movie is summer blockbuster, tech giant turns 25, school buildings crumble, Paint the Town Red goes to number one, record temperatures, NASA again denies aliens, UK high street stores close, TV soap returns, NASA brings back dangerous samples, Sycamore Gap changed forever, Michael Gambon passes, Keep it l___, Star Wars helmet sells for $1 million, insects spread from France, Marvel character returns, Disney is 100, footballing legends passes, Matthew Perry also passes, earthquake evacuation, TV series turns 60, shock points deduction, K-Pop MBEs from the King, Word of the Year, most googled musician of 2023, gameshow prize record and I’m A Celebrity winner! It’s been a full year!

The questions are student-accessible being a range of news based events, celebrity, music and movies covering a wide range of topics to make it so there’s something for everyone.

Split into 4 rounds of three months each. Good for filling an hour in the last week of term and a good informal one to do with your form if you have an hour to fill with something that’s not just a ‘watch a video’ and you actually want to spend some time with your class! I tend to pad it out into an hour and a half with discussions, sweets, prizes and rewards between and during rounds.

Answer sheet for students to fill in on final slide.

Lasts around 60 minutes with a form, I usually split them into groups and give rewards etc.

Have a good Christmas break and see you in January 2024! Flying cars maybe next year?

PS, if anything exciting happens I will alter the last couple of December questions and reupload before the end of term, would be free to re-download in that event!
