Dear Reader,

This lesson is part of a 10 lessons set; It teaches on how William gained economical information on his new conquest. The lesson aims to have students matching general knowledge and original sources while developing their writing ability.

All lessons have a same-model structure to get the students taught in a coherent manner, and always understand where they are at in their learning:

To Describe what the Domesday Survey was.
To Explain how it worked and why it was useful to William
To assess which was more successful in allowing William to maintain control – the Domesday Book or the Feudal System

The two first tasks are group or class-assessed, the third is individual and gives you the chance to go around the class and support writing on one on one.
Homework, reading resources and task templates are included.
This work should be ideal for a year 7 at the start of the year and is already set as slideshow.

Good luck

Alessio
