Sometimes things are not as you would expect. Ask your students to think of something they know to be unusual where someone can be surprised by someone else’s knowledge and suggest they write a monologue to describe it.
An example is given. In this particular example the surprise concerns a fob watch and is presented in the form of a monologue containing a ‘just for fun’ bet.
