A great resource pack to accompany the lovely children’s book ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’ by Ronda Armitage.

Banner- a long colourful display banner
Display borders- colourful borders to print out as many times as you need for a display board of any size
A4 word card- great to use when writing about the story
Story words- decorated words relating to the story-great to use on a display or in the writing area
Question cards-with questions about the story
Title page- a colourful page with the title, author and illustrator of the story
Picture and word cards
Photos- of different lighthouses- great for displays and discussion
Food display cards- colourful cards showing the different foods that Mrs Grinling put into the basket
Worksheets- various worksheets about the story such as thinking of ways to trick the seagulls, favourite meals, drawing parts of the story etc
Number line- A number line on lighthouses
Height lighthouses- order the different lighthouses in size order
Counting worksheets- count the number of seagulls and write the number in the boxes- a version for numbers up to 5 and for up to 10
Face masks- coloured masks to make and use when retelling the story or making new stories
Story props- large coloured props to use when retelling the story
Puppets- stick puppets to make of Mr Grinling, Mrs Grinling, Hamish the cat and the seagulls
Lighthouses- all about lighthouses and what they are used for
Maths- count the number of seagulls on each page and click on the correct answer

Phonemes on seagulls- all of the phonemes from the Letters and Sounds scheme on seagulls- these look great on a display of paper ‘rocks’

Word search- two different word searches with words relating to the story
Flying seagull- cut out and assemble a seagull which can be hung from the ceiling to make a flock of seagulls
Lighthouse- cut out and rearrange the lighthouse parts before sticking them onto your page
Colouring pictures- a collection of pictures to colour of the characters, food in the story, seaside scenes etc
Moving basket sheet- use a split pin to make the basket move from the cottage to the lighthouse
Make a basket- make a 3D basket and then draw some food to cut out and add to the basket

Bingo- a colourful picture bingo game
Dominoes
Dice game- roll a die and cover the correctly numbered seagull
