GCSE English Literature Paper 1 19th Century Novel. Year 10 & / or Year 11. The booklet is designed for students with a GCSE target grade of 5 or above who are studying the AQA course (8702). The learning objective is for students to record accurate and relevant notes, in order to create an accessible revision resource.
The booklet can be used by students whilst they are reading the novel or to summarise their notes as part of their revision process. The booklet allows students to record:
- the text’s plot (as a storyboard with captions)
- two key quotes per chapter (the quotes can also be labelled with the writer’s methods)
- the key theme(s) for each chapter
- track the novel’s tension in the form of a tension graph (also this can be labelled with structural features)
- acrostic-style notes to summarise the presentation of the key characters & how the audience would respond
- important context comments.
Alternatively, this booklet can be used for homework tasks.
Once completed, these booklets will provide an independent revision resource individual to the student who completes it.
