The structure and functions of blood

This is a resource built around the parts that make up blood. It is a literacy based resource which informs pupils about the structures that make blood as well as identifying the functions of the individual parts.
Once the text has been read pupils can then go on to summarize their understanding by having a go at the cloze (filling in the gaps) task, and then further develop their application of the information gained by answering the GCSE based questions, including a final ‘Quality of written communication’ (QWC) task about ‘Sickle cell anaemia’.
