The Trinity

visual resources are always good. There are a few ideas that I use with the Trinity which might be useful to consider with this. In Christianity there is one God but Christians can have different relationships with God so it's useful to think of 'Three Persons' or a Trinity. When Christians pray to the great Eternal Immortal and Invisible Creator, Lord God Almighty, they are praying to God the Father. </p> Jesus used to approach God as ' Abba' which is Aramaic for Dad! </p>Then we can think of Jesus, who came into the world to show Christians what God is like, a friend and saviour, someone who is full of love and compassion, who takes the burdens off them and brings peace, who is a Light in the world and shows the way, who has such insepparable oneness with the Father that he can say, 'The father and I are one' and 'before Abraham was, I am!' When Christians pray to this aspect of God, to Jesus the Son, and develop an inner relationship with him, this is the second aspect of God. </p> Finally there is the inner spirit of God which lies within each person. Their own 'inner light' which reminds them constantly, through their conscience, of what is right and wrong. That is what many Christians mean by the Holy Spirit. God is a mystery. There is no 'exact' definition of God, but the Christian concept of the Trinity is one which enables believers to develop their own personal relationship with God in a strong and meaningful way.</p> I hope this helps.
