Theme

Shared Theme Activity. This literature activity is used with 2 stories that share the same theme. It can be used with any 2 stories that you choose. Students will identify the shared theme and answer a question that requires close analytic reading. Students must locate details in each story to support the theme. They will use this evidence to answer the question. This activity can be used with the whole group, for enrichment, or in a literature center. You can use stories in your anthology or picture books. I have used this activity in my own class to prepare for PARCC assessments. The students really benefited from this used in a guided activity.
