This lesson looks at how energy changes involved in a neutralisation reaction can be used to determine the concentration of an acid or alkali sample, and as such covers one aspect of Energy Changes Required Practical from the AQA Combined Science Trilogy or GCSE Chemistry Specification

The PowerPoint has been designed to include everything needed to deliver the lesson, including an animated practical method, practice questions and an exam-style plenary all with answers included. You will not need to print any additional resources in order to deliver the lesson. This makes the lesson suitable for times when printing (or glue sticks) are not available and also for distance/home learning. The lesson is also designed to be delivered with no practical work, but could be enhanced by a teacher demo.

The download also includes a PDF version of a structured lab sheet that could be used if you are able to carry out the practical activity with students.

This lesson was originally planned for higher tier students.
