This resource is designed to give students a chance to practice and assess their ability to gain information from the periodic table.
Students will need knowledge of how to calculate the number of protons, neutrons and electrons in an element, read the table using the relevant rows and periods, as well as work out the basic electronic configuration of the first 20 elements.
For use when finishing the teaching of the fundamental ideas topic of Year 10 chemistry or with more able year 9 chemists.
This task can take between 15-25 mins depending on the ability of the students. All instructions included on the slides.
