Vehicle maintenance / Automotive Wheels & tyres and Braking Systems

Set of two PowerPoints made for Level 1 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course - The first covers wheels and tyres . There are 50 slides in total and makes use of the animations that PowerPoint offers - It also has an embedded online video so requres internet connection for slide 9 to work, you’ll need to allow external media also. This lesson covers tyre history, purpose, construction, tyre codes, wheel types and extra theory… there are some additional interactive quizzes and worksheets to go along with it - I updated it for an OFSTED visit so it covered everything possible… I have included any word docs needed to go along with it.

The second has 58 slides and covers braking systems - discs and drums as well as master cylinder, servo and pipes as well as correct disposal.

Be sure to use the slideshow feature or you’ll have a lot of overlapping images.

There are some slides that require answers to be revealed by clicking on the pictures or text - I have pointed these out in the slide comments.

I have also included a worksheet to accompany the lesson that can be printed out for students to complete, or sent to them via e-mail to complete on word.

I taught levels 1 up to 3 of Vehicle Maintenance & Repair at a further education college in the UK for 6 years delivering the IMI vehicle qualifications until Jan 2024 before I moved away from education.

I found the resources available to me when I started pretty poor and didn’t engage the students particularly well, so I made my own set of PowerPoints that cover pretty much all of it so far, so thought i’d share some of them up here and see if there’s any takers. If there is, i’ll put them all up and hopefully they’ll come in useful.

I don’t want to charge a ton for these, but a good few hours go into making these PowerPoints so i’m just getting a little back for my time and hopefully they come in useful for others.
