Water Budget Lesson for Edexcel A Level Geography Topic 5 (Water Cycle and Water Insecurity)

This lesson introduces the concept of a water budget through clear notes and explanatory diagrams, followed by a ‘living water budget’ task, where students annotate a water budget graph to suggest where they think the statements would apply - you may wish to provide them with a blank version of the water budget diagram slide for this. The lesson also asks students to compare and contrast waster budgets for two different parts of the world, and ends with a private study research task on river regimes, including links to various student friendly websites.
