Weekly Plan and resources based on Pie Corbett's How to Trap A Stone Giant

A week of English plans culminating in the children writing their own set of instructions.

I wrote my own newspaper article to “hook” the children in. The local landmarks listed could easily be edited for your school’s local area.

I have adapted Pie’s Stone Giant Instructions to use as a model text in Wednesday’s lesson.

There is also a whole class guided read using another set of Giant trapping instructions that i adapted from elsewhere.

Also included are the Powerpoints I used in the lessons.

Includes one day with a Talk For Writing activity that the children really enjoyed.

All you need to provide is a trail of stones for the children to follow in Tuesday’s lesson.

I used for Y3 but great for Y4 too.
