Who invented The Periodic Table?

The format of this lesson was designed for pupils who struggle with writing. It can be printed and given out individually so they can work at their own pace if required. This lesson was written for my middle ability year 8 science class and is designed to last 60 minutes. The lesson does not require IT access and does not need to be taught by a specialist, so is ideal to be used as cover.
The lesson has a Do Now or Setter task at the beginning and then goes on to discuss different attempts to make a Periodic Table before Mendeleev’s version. The lesson contains a variety of comprehension tasks to test understanding of pupils followed by some exam style questions.
The lesson includes a literacy, or extended writing task, and ends with a short plenary activity.
