This promotes language uptake. It contains a link (right click and select 'open&') to a 23 minute film clip by &';Routes Into Languages' as well as a quick quiz to educate students why language skills are so valuable in the workplace.
The last few slides are specifically about French.
I found several different sources (thank you to all original contributors) and adapted them. I hope this is helpful -- as always, all comments are welcomed.
(There is an Edinburgh specific slide in this.You could alter to demonstrate that there are more than 300 languages spoken in London alone.)

Good resource! However, it does not consider these facts: Spanish — 474 Million Native Speakers. English — 379 Million Native Speakers. FRENCH — 220 Million Native Speakers. German — 100 Million Native Speakers.
