Wild Life by Cynthia DeFelice Literature Unit

Wild Life is by Cynthia DeFelice, an author arguably best known for her work, The Missing Manatee. This book is at a 5.5 reading level, based off the Accelerated Reader scale.

This product took many weeks of work and includes 62 pages in total.

Page 1 is the title page followed by 4 pre-reading activities and a table of contents.

Each section includes: 2 pages of comprehension questions, 1 page of vocabulary work (presented in several different ways), and 1 page that is cross or co-curricular. Total content pages including pre-reading and post-reading activities: 44 pages.

Teacher's key: 16 pages.

I used this used with a small group and they enjoyed it, even the girls I had placed in the group. I had a farm kid in this group who did a great job of providing background knowledge and experiences to help his group better understand the story.
