Winter Wonderland Trail Hunt

This “Winter Woodland Trail Hunt” resource is designed to engage SEND /EYFS and KS1 children in outdoor exploration.
The activity includes a colourful checklist on page 1 with 12 winter-themed symbols, such as pinecones, holly, leaves, a squirrel and a bird, which children can tick off as they find them on the trail. Provide children with clip boards if available.
Page 2 provides the same symbols in black and white, encouraging children to colour them in when they spot each item. Pages 3 and 4 feature larger versions of these symbols, ideal for cutting out and laminating. These can be shared with children before the trail or attached to the real items they might discover, enhancing their sensory experience.
This resource promotes observation and hands-on learning in a fun and interactive way.
