Wish Movie Guide (PG - 2023) | Courage | Hope | Integrity

Challenge students to explore the depths of courage, hope, and resistance in Wish with this engaging movie guide. Analyze how the director creates suspense through dialogue and setting. Debate the moral complexities of leadership and power as portrayed by the king’s authoritarian rule and Asha’s principled stand against it. Compare the island of Rosas from the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie using song lyrics and examples from the story. Reflect on Asha’s growth from being insecure to a fearless leader. Finally, learn personal lessons of integrity and confidence through Asha’s journey.

This resource consists of 12 high-level, short answer and essay questions that will do more than just ask your students to regurgitate information.

**Distance Learning Tips:

• Distribute the Google Slides version to each student
• Use the screen sharing tool on your group call software to play the movie
• Pause the movie at each question to give students time to write/discuss
