Writing to describe with a detailed guide

This activity is a suggestion for a piece of descriptive writing involving an account of an artist producing a piece of art. It has been specially written by Johnnie Young to engage the interest of the students. Included is the writing task, taking it further ideas, and a check list of tips and guidance to offer your students to help them with the review of their own writing. You may choose to read the whole example piece of writing or just the first part and then your students can continue, develop and adapt.
