A two-week writing unit on the text Archie’s War, by Marcia Williams. It links perfectly with my History unit on World War I but it can also stand alone.
There is a heavy focus on sentence structure in this unit, with three levels of differentiation - this makes it suitable for Years 3 - 6.
Hi, just downloaded this and the planning looks great, but it maps out 11 lessons but only has slides to lesson 5? Also, I could not find the worksheets the plan refers to as only a PPT downloaded. Please advise and I'm sure once I've received this additional planning I'll be able to give a 5 star review because the inital planning looks spot on! :)

Hi there - the worksheets are in the Power Point for you to print off... Lesson 5 is the planning. After that, the children write, edit and upgrade their own work, which takes the remainder of the lessons.

If you go back to the table outlining the lessons, it explains what each lessons' content should be. There are no resources for the final few lessons because they use the book (recap and discuss), then there will be writing in the children's books for you to give feedback on, or do peer assessment. The children will then correct and edit their own work. It is up to you if you wish your pupils to write up their work in best.
