Year 1 Science: Animals, including humans: Our 5 Senses

This Year 1 science resource helps children to identify and name the 5 key body parts of the human body and their associated senses. Children will learn useful topic-related words, be posed interesting questions (Think-lets), follow highly structured teaching slides (Teach-lets) about the 5 key body parts and senses and have their scientific knowledge and understanding assessed throughout (Quiz-lets).

This resource provides 3 increasingly difficult challenges. The easier challenge asks children to identify and name the 5 key body parts, the moderate challenge asks children to match the 5 key body parts to their associated senses, and the harder challenge asks children to complete sentences (missing words) about body parts and senses before constructing their own sentences. All useful words, visual image prompts and answers are provided.
