A 3 day summer poetry unit, perfect for using with year 2 before or after the summer holidays. The unit is based around a poem called ‘Summer Postcards,’ which tells the story of a boy’s crazy travels with an elephant over the summer holidays.
During the unit, the children complete a reading comprehension, gather ideas and write their own simple poem, imagining a bizarre trip of their own.
