Year 2 The Storm Whale Planning (2 Weeks)

This is a 2 week unit of literacy work for a Year 2 class based on “The Storm Whale” by Benji Davies, aligned with the UK Year 2 National Curriculum. Each lesson includes a learning intention, success criteria, starter, teacher input, differentiated main tasks, plenary, and homework suggestions.

This unit aims to build literacy skills like sequencing, descriptive writing, character development, and problem-solving while encouraging creativity through the context of the book. Differentiated tasks and homework promote engagement and accommodate different learning needs.
