This was intended to be low entry, high exit. Children were given this task and then allowed to take it anywhere they wanted. All the children were able to create tables, bar charts, show working out. They identified they covered the following skills.
Money
weight
conversions - weight and money
Data Handling - tables, graphs, pie charts
All four operations
Some also linked the food bought to different food groups - link to science.
I also took the children to the local supermarket and they purchased all of the 'pre-packed&' items on their list to enable them to compare prices.
