year 5 or 6 Induction day activity - pastel transfer printing

This full powerpoint lesson introduces students to the art department with opportunity to discuss the Art department rules and expectations, particularly with safety.

It then moves through key terms such as contour to encourage use of accurate art vocabulary when discussing an art work.

The technique of pastel transfer printing is then demonstrated through a video made by myself. The video can be left on loop throughout the lesson so that students may refer back to it at anytime.

There is a plenary task with reflection on the main activity and resources for printing/ certificates that can be awarded for excellent artwork.
