Feedback on this please :) Students decide on a real life dilemma between a woman and her husband. Lots of scope for drama and enough for two lesson. Read the second to last slide first ! Based on actual case in America. All ready to deliver and argue.

Not my idea, but I use this with low ability, reluctant readers. Works wonders. Rules on the slides and texts/novels/plays etc work well with this game. Classes practically begging to read aloud after one lesson of this !

Lesson explores the Joint Enterprise Laws in the UK and asks what is fair and unfair in the world of young people and their decision making. Includes very sobering message from the Police and prisoners. Adaptable, but go through lesson before showing to students. If you use, give your views :)

Students work in pairs through this 'board game' activity, answering questions generated by the throw of a die. Use coins for counters. Adapt questions to any text/level. Student led lesson. Get them to note difficult questions. Pair less able with more able. Hours of possibilities

Team building exercise based on an already extant handout. Useful for first lessons or physical, social, health and emotional education. You'll need to adapt dates etc. Links to loads of other stuff as well.

Lesson for year 7s to encourage their enjoyment of poetry. You will need a post-it for each student. They distinguish between prose and poetry, identify key features and write their own version of WCW's brilliant poem. Display post-its around the class.

This introduces students to the idea of a novel. I teach Great Expectations to a low ability group and will regularly post lessons on this. The attached worksheet gets them thinking about narrative structure and you can refer to it throughout the SOW.
