This is part of a bundle of lessons and homeworks covering the GCSE AQA Christian Beliefs.
In the bundle there is a mixture of in class activities, comprehension, writing, fun tasks and homework worksheets. Class time is 60 minutes. You can modify the classes to suit your students. The resource comes in PDF format.
This is a free sample resource for Christian beliefs, view shop for more resources on Christianity and Buddhism.
This resource was designed with the new worldviews curriculum in mind. The bundle traces some key events in the life of Jesus. This third resource is about Temptation, what they are, some of the temptations of Jesus, a role play of the 40 days in the desert and the influence this story has on Christians today. The homework is about Messiahs, the lesson is a little shorter so you can introduce the homework in time as it’s a new topic, but it is clear enough students can follow along. Review at the beginning of the following class.
This is a KS3 resource, year 7s-9. I have added in an extra short resource if you wish to expand it further to consider Jesus as Messiah. You could also consider discussing the Parables, Holy week, Life after death etc if you want to spread it out for a term. Otherwise this resource set can be completed in a half term if done efficiently. I personally try to cover a lot in KS3 and move through topics quite swiftly but there is also benefits to stretching this material out, to use the HW sheets as in class materials and then offer shorter homework tasks from textbooks etc.
All resources should be supplemented with effective questioning to reap the best results! ‘Tell me more about that?’ ‘Does anyone disagree?’ ‘Why might Jesus have done this?’ etc.

This opening resource supports students to think about Jesus from different perspectives, who he is to Historians? Who he is to Christians? Why he is considered a saviour? What was his life like - what was the context at the time. There is also a comprehension worksheet to complete for homework that goes into more depth.

This lesson covers the GCSE AQA Specification for Christian Beliefs. Each lesson contains a starter, plenary, one or more activity, literacy and homework suggestions.
I suggest taking the full 55-60 minutes if possible. Some lessons have slightly more content than others and this can be spread out according to your teaching schedule.
All the folders are labelled in order for download but for added clarity the suggested order for the lessons is as follows.
Lesson 1 - The Nature of God
Lesson 2 - The Problem of Evil
Lesson 3 - The Trinity
Lesson 4 – Genesis
Lesson 5 – The Incarnation of Jesus
Lesson 6 – Jesus’ Death
Lesson 7 – Easter: The Resurrection and Ascension
Lesson 8 – Life after Death
Lesson 9 – Sin and Salvation
Lesson 10 – The Afterlife and Judgement
Lesson 11- Heaven and Hell (download for free from shop)
